Starbucks on Saturday launched its highest store in Asia atop Mount Fansipan in Vietnam's northern mountains, allowing visitors to sip coffee while taking in views of clouds from the “roof of Indochina.”
The new outlet sits at the arrival station of the Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car in Sa Pa, it announced on its Facebook page.
Designed with expansive glass walls, the café allows visitors to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and clouds.
Mount Fansipan standing at 3,147 meters earned the nickname "roof of Indochina" for being the highest peak in the region.
It is accessible by a three-rope cable car system and is a popular destination for hikers and tourists in Sa Pa.
Once a summer hideout for French officials, Sa Pa has retained traces of the colonial era with its French-built stone church and Indochina-style resorts.
Globally, Starbucks has opened several scenic-view cafés. One example is its store at the Fujikawa Service Area, where customers can enjoy coffee while overlooking Mount Fuji.
