INTRODUCTION
Isolated Mai Chau and the nearby villages are in a valley around 160 km from Hanoi and only 150 metres above sea level. Nestled between two towering cliffs and surrounded by emerald green paddies, it is an enchanting sight as you approach down the windy cliff side road and the villages and surrounding countryside present an idyllic rural scene that could easily charm you into staying longer than intended.
Meaning the highest mountain, Pu Luong is one of the Northwest tourist attractions that appeal to many young people with the untouched beauty of the rainforest.
This tour is excellent combination of 2 famous destination Mai Chau and Pu Luong which will make such a lovely memorial trip for you.
ITENERARY:
Day 1: Hanoi-Mai Chau(L,D)
Day 2: Mai Chau-Pu Luong-Short trek in the afternoon(B,L,D)
Day 3: Pu Luong trek to Pho Doan, drive back to Hanoi(B,L)
DAY BY DAY
DAY 1: HANOI - MAI CHAU
08:00 am: Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau – an idyllic valley home to many hill tribes including the Dzao, Muong and Thai. 12: 30: Arrive in Mai Chau around noon, check in your room and enjoy lunch. 14: 30 pm: In the afternoon, cycle to explore Mai Chau beautiful ethnic villages including Na Thia, Nhot, Pom Coong, Lac and Chieng Chau villages. Be welcomed by the friendly local people, talk with them and discover their traditional culture. Total cycling time is around 2 – 3 hours on flat village paths. Take it all in: the spectacular scenery of Mai Chau and the relaxed rhythm of local life. 17:00 – 17:30 pm: Back to Mai Chau Ecolodge for dinner. For evening enjoyment, you may choose to take part in a traditional dance show with Ruou Can (a local wine), a cooking class, a weaving class or all. Overnight at Mai Chau .
DAY 2: MAI CHAU - PULUONG SHORT TREK
Start at 08.30 am, After breakfast, take a short ride (20 minutes) to the Ma river, where we will take a short boat trip to see the village of Thai people, their village hide themself in the bamboo forest, you can see they make chopstick, toothpick or souveneer from bamboo there, after that we will drive through beautiful hillside villages, magnificent rice paddies, seeing hand crafted bamboo water wheels on the way to reach to Pu Luong Nature Reserve, check in and Have lunch in Puluong Retreat.
We will have short trek in the afternoon to see Village of Thai poeple. be welcomed by the Thai family at their house. You can take a stroll around their village before having dinner and relax at leisure. Overnight in Puluong retreat.
DAY 3: PULUONG TREK TO PHO DOAN , DRIVE BACK TO HANOI
After having breakfast, start for an easy day trek. We will continue on through beautiful valley, unspoiled villages with nice view, sure with many impressions. Relax from the heat of the day before continuing on to a village nestled between steep karst mountains and nice terraces. Arrive in a small town in Pho Doan market after 3-4 hrs trekking.
Short break for lunch in a local food stall in the town. Our driver will bring us to Canh Nang, follow 217 roads to Cam Thuy and back to Hanoi. Finish our trip at your hotel in Hanoi.

Comfortable clothes make you more active for cycling and long drive jouney bring scraf, hat, cap, Suncream, sun glasses, insect repellent are also necessary because the weather in Mai Chau, Puluong can be very hot in Sumer. It is normally hot in May, June, July, August, September and October.
You should take cash with you in vietnam Dong because banking system in Mai Chau sometimes does not function well. Us Dollar, Euro are not accepted sometime in Mai Chau and Puluong.
You shoule take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Mai Chau in case you get sick.
