In the morning, we embark on cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. We will have chance to visit some local village on the way back to Luang Prabang
Arriving back in town, we will take a short visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center, where you will have a short tour so you get information about Silk, about weaver, about the Women that work in the Centre.
You can have hands-on experience with joining a class of traditional weaving. The class starts with and introduction to silks, dyeing, and weaving techniques. There is a guide and a Master Weaver who will help you to make your own placemat.
After stroll around the center, you can enjoy a drink (your account) at the terrace of Silk Road Café overlooking the Mekong River. This is also one of the best spots to admire sunset in Luang Prabang.
