Begin your day at the Independence Palace (Reunification Palace), an important symbol of Vietnam’s history. Continue to admire the elegant French colonial landmarks — Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office — before visiting the thought-provoking War Remnants Museum.
Around noon, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, a drive of approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, watch a short introductory film to understand the history and construction of the tunnels. Then explore the underground network, including living quarters, kitchens, workshops, and command centers. See hidden trap doors and clever wartime traps used by Viet Cong soldiers.
Try traditional guerrilla snacks — tea and cassava — and, for those interested, there’s an opportunity to fire a real gun at the shooting range (optional, at your own expense).
