"Vietnam’s capital city is home to a treasure trove of foodie finds down narrow alleys, up winding concrete stairs, and on crowded street corners," Time Out wrote.

Foodies can join the lines outside Banh Mi 25 in the Old Quarter for a barbecue pork banh mi or hunt for a steaming bowl of northern-style pho down a dark hallway, the magazine recommended.

The list was curated based on factors such as affordability, accessibility, and dish quality.

Malaysia’s Penang was named the best street food city in Asia, with Singapore ranking third. Thailand’s Bangkok came in 8th, and Cambodia’s Phnom Penh placed 9th.

Vietnamese cuisine has become increasingly popular worldwide in recent years, with international chefs and prestigious food magazines praising several national dishes.
