Vietnam Airlines will launch a direct Hanoi-Milan route on July 1, 2025, marking the first direct connection between Vietnam and Italy, with special promotions available.
Vietnam Airlines is set to make history by launching the first direct air route between Hanoi and Milan, Italy, starting July 1, 2025. This will be the first time a Vietnamese carrier has established a direct connection between Vietnam and Italy.

New Direct Route Details
The Hanoi-Milan route will operate three times a week, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The flights will be serviced by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, renowned for its efficiency and comfort on long-haul journeys.

To celebrate the launch, Vietnam Airlines is offering special promotions, with round-trip tickets starting from VND14.8 million (approximately $600), inclusive of taxes and fees. This promotional offer applies to tickets purchased between September 17 and November 12, 2024, for flights departing between July 1 and July 31, 2025.

Tickets for the new route are now available through Vietnam Airlines’ official website, mobile app, and authorized ticket offices and agents nationwide.

Future Plans and European Expansion
Vietnam Airlines is also planning to launch direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Milan in 2026, further expanding its footprint in Europe. The addition of Milan brings the total number of Vietnam Airlines’ international routes to Europe to nine.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates direct flights from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major European destinations, including Paris, Frankfurt, and London. Moreover, the airline is set to begin direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Munich, Germany, in October 2024.

This strategic expansion into Europe reflects Vietnam Airlines' commitment to offering more convenient travel options and strengthening its presence in the international market.
