Vietjet Air opens a new Da Nang-Ahmedabad route, boosting Vietnam-India connectivity. The airline also celebrates 200 million passengers
Vietjet Air has announced the launch of a new direct route connecting Da Nang, Vietnam, and Ahmedabad, India. The route is set to begin operations in October 2024, expanding the airline’s growing network between the two nations. The announcement coincides with a major milestone for the budget carrier as it welcomed its 200 millionth passenger.

The launch ceremony took place during the Vietnam-India Business Forum in New Delhi on July 31, with the presence of Vietnam's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh. The event highlighted the growing trade and tourism links between Vietnam and India, two nations increasingly connected through Vietjet’s expanding flight options.

Vietjet currently operates 56 flights per week on seven routes between Vietnam and India, making it the airline with the most direct connections between the two countries. Since launching its first direct flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and New Delhi in 2019, the airline has transported nearly 1.3 million passengers between the two nations.

According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Indian tourist arrivals to Vietnam have surged in recent years, with over 390,000 Indian visitors recorded in 2023. This ranks India among the top 10 markets for inbound tourists to Vietnam, with an average monthly growth rate of 45 percent. The new Da Nang-Ahmedabad route is expected to further boost tourism and business travel between the two countries by reducing travel time and providing more convenient connections.

As Vietjet continues to lead in enhancing air connectivity between Vietnam and India, this latest route will serve as a crucial link for travelers and businesses alike, reinforcing the strong diplomatic and economic ties between the two regions.
