Phu Quoc prepares for a tourist influx during Vietnam's National Day holiday with exciting new attractions, safety measures, and special promotions. Phu Quoc Island is preparing to welcome a surge of domestic and international visitors during Vietnam’s National Day holiday on September 2. The Kiên Giang Department of Tourism forecasts a large influx of tourists, thanks to various promotional efforts and new tourism offerings.

Boosting Tourism with Special Promotions
Local authorities and businesses on Phu Quoc have implemented numerous initiatives to attract visitors during the holiday season. Nguyễn Vũ Khắc Huy, standing vice chairman of the Kiên Giang Tourism Association and general director of Vina Phu Quoc Travel, noted that hotels and resorts are offering special service packages and promotions. These include quick procedures for international tourists and easily accessible information to ensure smooth travel.

Businesses are committed to transparent pricing, with all service prices publicly listed. Many establishments are also applying discounts to entice tourists, providing an additional draw for visitors to the island.

Exciting New Attractions for Visitors
Tourism businesses have launched a variety of new experiences to enhance the appeal of Phu Quoc. These include double-decker bus tours around the island, basket boat excursions, water sports, ocean fishing, and sunset yacht trips. For more adventurous travelers, options like beach camping and underwater fish-feeding add to the island’s diverse offerings.

The island’s five-star amenities and rich natural beauty make it a prime destination for those seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation.

Focus on Safety and Service Quality

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, Phu Quoc’s tourism authorities are enforcing strict regulations. Bùi Quốc Thái, director of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in food safety, service quality, and security.

Businesses are inspecting facilities to ensure they meet these standards, while the local government is actively addressing any violations of tourism laws. Tour operators are required to employ only qualified guides, and specific precautions are being taken for water-based activities, especially during inclement weather.

Rescue teams will be stationed at beaches and swimming pools, with clear signage marking unsafe areas to minimize risks.

For any issues during their stay, tourists can call a dedicated hotline at 0946.350.035 for support and complaint resolution.

Phu Quoc’s Tourism Boom in 2024
Phu Quoc has already seen remarkable growth in tourism throughout the first eight months of 2024, welcoming over 4.52 million visitors. Of this total, 653,525 were international tourists, achieving 98.1% of the year’s target. The island's tourism revenue has exceeded VNĐ14.9 trillion (US$599.2 million).

International connectivity has also played a key role in Phu Quoc’s growing appeal. The island currently operates international flight routes to South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Malaysia, and Thailand, with the largest number of flights from South Korea. Over 40 flights arrive and depart daily, providing easy access for international travelers.

Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for Phu Quoc Tourism

With a significant increase in tourist numbers expected towards the end of the year, especially during the New Year, winter vacations, and Christmas, Phu Quoc is on track to further solidify its position as a top travel destination. The upcoming National Day holiday is expected to be a key contributor to this growth, as both domestic and international visitors flock to the island for its unique blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and luxurious amenities.
