Hanoi Named Asias Best City Break Destination

Hanoi has been honored as Asia's Leading City Break Destination at the World Travel Awards, triumphing over major cities like Bangkok and Singapore. This marks the third time the Vietnamese capital has earned this prestigious title, solidifying its status as a top travel destination in Asia.

Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, has been crowned Asia's Leading City Break Destination at the prestigious World Travel Awards, surpassing 10 other contenders. This is the third time Hanoi has won this title, edging out notable cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Kyoto, as announced during the awards ceremony held in the Philippines on Tuesday.

Hanoi also earned the title of "Asia's Leading City Destination" at the event.

Recently, Hanoi welcomed 4,500 tourists from Sun Pharmaceuticals, one of India’s largest companies, who visited popular sites such as the Hoa Lo Prison Relic and the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university.

Other Vietnamese destinations were also recognized during the ceremony. Ho Chi Minh City was named "Asia's Leading Business Travel Destination," while Hoi An received the award for "Asia's Leading Cultural City Destination."

The Tam Chuc Complex in Ha Nam province was honored as "Asia's Leading Cultural Tourist Attraction," and the province itself was recognized as "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination."

Cuc Phuong National Park, located 120 kilometers south of Hanoi, was named "Asia's Leading National Park" for the sixth year in a row.

Ha Giang, a northern mountainous province near the Chinese border, was awarded "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination," while Moc Chau, located about 200 kilometers west of Hanoi, was voted "Asia's Leading Regional Nature Destination."

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards are considered the "Oscars of the travel industry," recognizing excellence in the travel and tourism sector. Winners are determined by votes from both travel industry professionals and the public.
