Halong Bay resumes tourism after Typhoon Yagi. Boats are operational, cleanup complete, and the port reopened, welcoming tourists once again
Halong Bay
, a renowned tourist destination in Quang Ninh Province, is back in business following the disruptions caused by Typhoon Yagi. Nearly a week after the typhoon's severe impact, the bay has resumed normal operations for tourist boats as of Friday.

The storm left significant damage, but local residents and emergency services have worked tirelessly to clean up and restore the area. Tourist boats, which are crucial to Ha Long's tourism sector, have been inspected, maintained, and repaired to meet safety standards.

Of the 80 vessels operating in the bay, nearly all are now prepared to welcome visitors once more. Tourism businesses in Ha Long City are also busy ensuring that infrastructure and staffing are ready to cater to incoming tourists.

The Halong International Passenger Port reopened on September 10, receiving over 70 vessels with more than 1,500 tourists from China and South Korea. However, to guarantee the safety of all activities, tourist pick-up operations at the port were temporarily halted for thorough safety inspections.

Looking ahead, Halong Bay aims to attract over 9.5 million visitors in 2024, underscoring its commitment to restoring its status as a top destination and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all travelers.
