Flights from Can Tho to Phu Quoc Set to Resume in Late October

Flights between Can Tho and Phu Quoc Island will resume on Oct. 28, operated by Vietnam Airlines, boosting tourism in the region
The air route between Can Tho, a key city in the Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam’s largest island and a popular tourist destination in Kien Giang Province, will resume operations on October 28. The service will feature five round-trip flights per week, with departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, as announced by the Southern Airport Authority.

Flights from Can Tho to Phu Quoc will depart at 10:40 a.m., while the return flights from Phu Quoc will leave at 12:15 p.m. Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier, will operate these flights using ATR 72 aircraft, after Bamboo Airways suspended its service on the route in November 2023, alongside other domestic and international routes.

The Southern Airport Authority representative expressed optimism that the resumption of flights will stimulate tourism growth between the Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc, a key economic hub for Vietnam’s travel industry.

Can Tho International Airport is currently connected to major domestic destinations such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Con Dao Island, with flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and VASCO.
