Colorful Guizhou Airlines begins direct flights between Guiyang and Ha Noi, offering faster travel and boosting tourism and cultural exchanges 
Colorful Guizhou Airlines, based in China, has inaugurated its first international flight route, connecting Guiyang City with Vietnam's capital, Ha Noi. The airline chose Noi Bai International Airport as its first international destination, marking a significant milestone in expanding its global operations.
On August 31, 2024, the airline's inaugural flight, GY 701, departed from Guiyang City at 8:50 a.m. with 154 passengers aboard. The flight landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi, where it was greeted with a ceremonial water cannon salute, symbolizing the significance of this new route for both countries. At 10:25 a.m. that same day, the return flight GY 702, carrying 160 passengers, departed from Ha Noi back to Guiyang, signaling the start of regular operations.
Colorful Guizhou Airlines has scheduled three round-trip flights per week between Guiyang and Ha Noi, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Passengers will travel aboard the airline’s state-of-the-art Airbus A320, ensuring a comfortable and efficient journey. The direct flight cuts travel time between the two cities to just about two hours, a significant improvement compared to the previous 12-hour journey by road.
The decision to launch Ha Noi as the airline's first international destination highlights the growing ties between Vietnam and China, particularly in tourism. This new route offers travelers from Guizhou a more convenient way to explore Ha Noi and the scenic northern provinces of Vietnam.
